an absurd invitation
An ode to a trickster The greatest of listeners Here to lend you an ear When your reality becomes unclear Should you dare to invite Energies that tempt you to take flight May you veer from the path most traveled Strip yourself bare, unravel Flip inside out Change up to down Spin round and round and round And as you land in this new place Look in the mirror and rest your gaze See if you can recognize this face A mask you’ve worn before Beneath flickers the ones that went to war For you to find yourself again and again A game that has no tangible end It’s funny you see When you believe there was ever a gap between you and me Or anywhere to actually go The swirling spiral of universal flow
I’ve been sitting with Absurdity recently.
The entity that lies in the inbetween. In between what’s real or at least what I believed to be.
The more absurd this reality becomes I find the veil seems to thin. Thin between the waking world and the dreams I hold within.
How am I to know what’s real when what tethered me before I can no longer feel?
And the more I observe this reality we call earth the more silly it becomes to believe that there’s not more to unearth.
Deeper I dive into the dark caves where our shadows thrive. The closer I find myself drawn to their light.
I come to realize that in the shadows we gain new sight.
And through these new eyes I see how absurd it is to hold my limiting beliefs. To choose to dissolve, decay and revolve. To dance with the shadows that call me to evolve.
Absurdity asks you to dare to choose the path least traveled.
No, Absurdity asks you to imagine and unravel. To feel the fear and choose to invite it near. To face the monsters that hide in your closet at night. To invite them to tea, to dance and frolic with the night.
For the more you invite in the Absurd you’ll find your reality start to reform. Only for you to one day wake up and realize you were never asleep. Only playing a game that you convinced yourself couldn’t be beat.
But alas that’s the joy of it all. We came here to unravel and revolve. A spiraling dance between the dark and the light. The inevitable love between death and life.
Invite in the Absurd and you’ll begin to find. Find yourself between all potential realities. In the chosen form your spirit chose to be.
For to be human is to be Absurd you see. To hold the truths that contradict and conflict. To choose to forget and play to remember. To fall asleep and rise to wake while never truly knowing which one is fake.
And as we dance between what is real and what is false, sometimes we’ll slip into the inbetween of it all. Where everything is nothing and nothing is all.
So Absurd in it’s concept we might as well believe in a reality where all our dreams can be free.
